Around 500 B.C. when ancient Greek mathematicians, scientists and philosophers discovered that the earth was round, many were persecuted for their findings. The title, Flat Affect, refers to the once unquestioned belief that the world was flat, as well as to all anxieties that arise from fear of the unknown. Flat Affect examines the cause and effect of abject terror from both a global and personal perspective. War, death, and destruction as well as oppression are all products of this fear.
